Your nomination speaks volumes

At CLSSA, we believe that the heart of every Community Language School is its people—the teachers, volunteers, and leaders who go above and beyond to preserve culture, foster multilingualism, and strengthen our communities. Supported by the Department for Education, the Teacher of the Year Awards are our way of recognizing and celebrating these unsung heroes who are making an incredible impact.

Every year, we honor the hard work of the 1,500+ educators and volunteers who help keep South Australia’s 93 CLS programs running smoothly. Many of these individuals give their time and expertise purely out of love for their culture and students. Their dedication shapes the future by passing on language, traditions, and a sense of belonging to the next generation. These awards are a powerful opportunity to highlight their contributions and inspire others in the sector.
