Are you ready to start a Community Language School?
If you want to start a new Community Language School (CLS) in your local area, CLSSA can help. We are the key agent for communication between CLSs and the Department for Education. We will help you get accredited so that you can receive funding for your school.
The Department for Education provides annual funding to support organisations who deliver language and cultural programs. These programs must be delivered to school-aged students (5-18 years) outside of school hours. This can include the teaching of South Australian Certification of Education (SACE) language subjects.

School Guidelines
These documents will give you an idea of what standards new and existing CLSs are expected to uphold. Note: not all schools provide a SACE curriculum.
Accreditation
CLSs must meet these standards to receive funding from the Department for Education.
Funding
Accredited CLS are entitled to three types of funding; Needs Based, Per Capita and SACE.
SACE Provider
CLS providing SACE courses to children in Year 10-12 must meet these standards.
Get Accredited
Accreditation for CLSs can take between 6 and 24 months. You must be accredited to be eligible for Department for Education CLS funding.
